Our customers

Our customers have high expectations of us. We are one of the world's largest insurers, after all. And we live up to those expectations by getting to know our customers - understanding what they want and discovering what they need. It's one of the main reasons why we often have long-term relationships with them.

The following quote was emailed to us by an existing Aviva customer.

"What really impressed me when I called up to get a quote for home contents insurance was that I was offered what I needed not what an advisor was desperate to sell me. That's a different experience to what I'd had with other insurance companies I can tell you.

I started by telling the advisor about the level of cover I thought I needed. But rather than just give me a quote and process it, the person I was talking to got me to take a step back so that she could ask me what I wanted covered. The big advantage of this was that I didn't need to cover half of what I thought I did.

A lot of what was in my house was already covered by my buildings policy. The advisor put it a nice way. She said 'imagine you could turn your house upside down and give it a shake. Anything that falls out, you need a contents policy to cover. Anything that doesn't move is buildings insurance.

Because she took the time to explain all this, I paid a smaller premium. Of course, that means in the short-term Aviva might make a smidge less money. But when I advise my friends to go to Aviva the next time they need a quote, they'll benefit. Sounds like good business to me."
