The support and flexibility at Aviva has always been invaluable for me. I’m mum to two children, so working flexibly allows me to spend time with my family, whilst still holding an influential position in the business.

I’ve been involved in recruitment over the years at Aviva, and my preference was to focus on the softer skills at interview. One of the faults of the actuarial teams in the past has been our weakness in simplification and communication. I strongly believe that the technical skills can be learnt if you have a strong academic background, but the softer skills are more difficult to learn.
