We want to give our customers the peace of mind that comes from offering a stand-out service. But we also want to give them value. And our procurement team is central to that aim. It’s why we look for people who know where our customers are coming from and instil the same sense of care in our suppliers.
Essentially, this is about getting the best products and services on the best terms. It’s about being sustainable. And ethical. We’ve got a global focus too, making this a brilliant place to broaden your horizons and learn new skills.
Every year, we spend around £6bn on procurement. It’s a huge amount, and we have a massive reach. So while your focus will be on the UK, the Eurozone and Canada (the areas where we do the most business and have the biggest spend), we’ll also need you to keep an eye on emerging markets.
We don’t just choose our suppliers based on price. We look at corporate responsibility and sustainability too. These are things that matter to us, and we want to work with suppliers who care as much about them as we do. It means we don’t just work with big companies – we work with suppliers of all shapes and sizes who, like us, pride themselves on doing the right thing.
Our different businesses each have their own procurement teams. All of them are focused on delivering value and quality. They also all give priority to suppliers with ISO 9001 certification (or similar international standards).
Whether you’re a Category Analyst, Category Manager, Procurement Manager or you join us in any of our other roles, the work you do will go further than just our business. You’ll be supporting employees and companies right across the globe.
