Accountancy graduate pathway

It all adds up to a better future.

Find a career that brings out your spark.

Is Accountancy right for you?

It’s not just about the numbers. As a graduate in Accountancy, you’ll help shape how we work today and where we’re headed – solving problems, thinking strategically and influencing big decisions. You’ll be a key part of a market-leading, FTSE 100 company.

Yes the figures matter – we’re a regulated industry. But accountancy goes beyond compliance. You’ll be part of a team that drives change and plays a vital role in our success.

If you’re curious, analytical and ready to make an impact, this could be a great fit for you.

Salary: £33,200 plus exam related pay increases
Duration: Three years
Locations: Norwich or York

What you can expect

Over three years you’ll rotate around different finance teams like Financial Reporting & Controls, Business Partnering, Tax and Investments.

You’ll be working towards your ACA qualification and at the end of the three years, you’ll be a fully qualified chartered accountant, with loads of hands on experience in commercial accounting.

We’ll support you all the way – with pay rises for every exam you pass and a market leading salary when you qualify.

And that’s not all. For two of the three years, you’ll join our supported central development programme designed to help you grow into a well-rounded professional and depending on your ambition, potentially a future business leader.

Where you'll be based

You’ll be based in either our Norwich or York office – both are brilliant locations. Check them out through the links below and see which one feels right for you.

Wherever you’re based, the likelihood is you’ll balance time in the office with working from home. We call this Smart Working. Three days in the office and two days from home is typical, but this will vary between teams. When you join us, your leader will take time to discuss this with you, and agree what works best for you, your team, and the business.

Even with our Smart Working approach, it’s important to note you’ll still need to live within commuting distance of your contracted office. That way you’ll get to spend time with your team in person, as well as virtually, and get access to the right internal support networks to help you to succeed.

What you’ll need

You’ll either already have a degree in any subject, or you’ll be graduating by the end of summer 2026. You’ll need to be ready to start work full-time from September 2026.

You’ll need a good head for numbers but we’re not expecting you to know it all. We’re looking for curious minds, fresh energy and people who aren’t afraid to ask questions or see things from a different angle.

Mostly, we look for people who can bring the kind of fresh perspectives and new ideas that will help us to thrive.

If you’re keen to learn, ready to grow and excited to make an impact, this could be your start to something big.

Aviva cannot provide visa sponsorship for this programme. To apply, you’ll need indefinite right to work in the UK. If this applies to you, we’d love to hear from you.

Show us your spark
