If you’re curious about what tech can do and excited by the idea of driving real change for our business and customers, then you’re in the right place. We have lots of graduate opportunities in this area – and you don’t need a tech degree or background to join us. Just bring your passion, fresh ideas and a willingness to learn.

Duration: Permanent role (from day one) with a c12-14 month Tech Talent programme boosted by a two-year central development programme
Locations: Bristol, Norwich, or York (varies by role type, see individual roles)

Different stories. One team.

Wondering what it’s really like to ignite your career in tech with us? We chatted to some of our alumni and people who are living it right now.

What you can expect

You’ll be in a permanent role from day one in a workplace where our people and customers come first, and where tech makes a real and meaningful difference to people’s everyday lives. We’re building more than systems – we’re designing meaningful experiences, smarter solutions, and a digitally secure tomorrow. And it doesn’t matter where you studied or where you’ve worked before – if you’re passionate and ready to learn, you’re welcome here.

You’ll be part of a buzzing early careers community – in fact, over 10% of our permanent Tech and Change Delivery colleagues are either on, or have come through, one of our Tech Talent Early Career Programmes. So you’ll be joining a growing network of people just like you – to connect with, learn from, and grow alongside. You’ll be making waves across the business and showing what fresh thinking can really do.

Expect real-world, hands-on experience – the kind you can’t get from textbooks or a classroom. You’ll get to put theory into practice, see the impact of your work, and learn loads as you go.

We want you to shine. We’ll empower you to be yourself, take ownership of your work and your progression, and support you to be the best that you can be. Show us what you can do, and we’ll keep giving you more opportunities to grow, take on responsibility and make your mark.

During your c12-14 month Tech Talent Graduate Programme, you’ll get loads of development opportunities tailored just for you and your role – giving you a solid foundation to build and succeed in your career. You’ll also work towards industry-recognised qualifications to boost your skills and add to your list of achievements.

And that’s not all. You’ll join our two-year central development programme, giving you everything you need to become a well-rounded professional.

Technology and Change Delivery specialisms

We’ve got lots of different graduate roles across our Tech and Change Delivery teams – and to keep things simple, we’ve grouped them into two specialisms. All you need to do is pick the one that feels right for your skills, interests, and what gets you fired up.

And remember, you don’t need a tech degree or loads of experience to get started (just some coding experience if you’re applying for Software and Data Engineering). Think about what you’re good at and what you enjoy most. We’ll teach you the rest.

Where you’ll be based

We have Technology and Change Delivery opportunities in our Bristol, Norwich and York offices. Not all roles are available in all locations. See the individual roles in the two specialisms above for details.

Wherever you’re based, the likelihood is you’ll balance time in the office with working from home. We call this Smart Working. Three days in the office and two days from home is typical, but this will vary between teams. When you join us, your leader will take time to discuss this with you, and agree what works best for you, your team, and the business.

Even with our Smart Working approach, it’s important to note you’ll still need to live within commuting distance of your contracted office. That way you’ll get to spend time with your team in person, as well as virtually, and get access to the right internal support networks to help you to succeed.

What you’ll need

You’ll either already have a degree in any subject, or you’ll be graduating by the end of summer 2026. You’ll need to be ready to start work full-time from September 2026.

If you’re thinking about applying for one of our Software Development roles, having some coding experience or knowledge is really important – whether you’ve picked it up through uni, online courses or just teaching yourself.

In both specialisms, we’re looking for people who can explain complex stuff in a clear and engaging way. You’ll need to be a good communicator, curious about new and emerging tech, and keen to explore how it can be used to make life better for our customers and colleagues.

Most of all, we want people who care about making a difference – who enjoy helping others, are driven to create real change, and excited to learn and grow. If you’ve got an analytical mindset, strong problem-solving skills, along with a passion for tech, you’ll fit well here.

Aviva cannot provide visa sponsorship for this programme. To apply, you’ll need indefinite right to work in the UK. If this applies to you, we’d love to hear from you.

Making career choices real

Ever wondered what would happen if girls were encouraged to explore tech just like boys are? Let these 6-8 year olds show you.

Show us your spark

That’s what we want to see. So, each stage of our application process is designed to bring out the best in you. Below is a step-by-step guide, which you’ll see varies slightly depending on the pathway you choose.
