Business Management apprenticeship pathway

Realise your potential in business

Find a career that brings out your spark

Is Business Management right for you?

A business management apprenticeship is a fantastic way to dive into the world of business. You’ll get to see how we operate, manage teams, and keep everything running smoothly. We think bold, and we want you to do the same.

Strategic thinking is at the heart of our business management apprenticeship careers. You’ll also develop and gain a wide range of key commercial skills such as problem solving, negotiating and knowing the market so you can progress, lead, or carve out your own niche.

We offer two pathways into business management. Are you naturally inquisitive with a passion for being a team player? Are you analytically minded with strong numerical and excel skills? Do you have a genuine interest in the financial markets and are looking to apply your skills to develop your knowledge further? Then joining our Investment Operations team could be the right pathway for you. Or, if you want to influence key business decisions and ensure top-notch service for our customers after a claim, our Procurement team at the heart of our supply chain is where you need to be.

Salary: £25,100
Duration: Permanent role from day one with two year learning programme.
Locations: Norwich or York

Where you’ll be based

The supply chain apprentice opportunities are based in our Norwich office and the investment apprentice roles are in York.

Wherever you’re based, the likelihood is you’ll balance time in the office with working from home. We call this Smart Working. Typically, it’s three days in the office and two days from home but this can vary between teams. When you join us, your leader will discuss this with you, and agree what works best for you, your team, and the business.

Even with our Smart Working approach, it’s important to note that you’ll still need to live within commuting distance of the relevant office. That way you’ll get to spend time with your team in person, as well as virtually, and have access to the right internal support networks to help you to succeed.

What you’ll need

To join us on the Level 4 Investment Apprenticeship, you’ll need (or be on track to achieve) at least three A- Levels at grades B, C, C or above (in England) or four Highers at grades B, B, B, C or above (in Scotland). Or have an equivalent Level 3 qualification.

You’ll also need at least five GCSEs or Scottish National 5s at grades A*-C (9-4) or have equivalent qualifications. These must include English and Maths.

Alongside that, we’re looking for people who have good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. A genuine interest in financial markets, securities, or investments is also important in this role. You should be able to work efficiently without compromising accuracy and be flexible to handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

To join us on the Level 3 Supply Chain Apprenticeship, you’ll need at least five GCSEs or Scottish National 5s at grades A*-C (9-4) or have equivalent qualifications. These must include English and Maths.

In this role, aside from qualifications, we’re looking for strong communicators with a genuine customer focus. You’ll be someone who has no problem with motivating themselves to solve problems or seek out improvements. And you’ll be just as happy to listen and collaborate as you are to challenge things, all in the interest of achieving more for us and our customers. To do this, you’ll need solid analytical skills and a commitment to growth.

In addition to meeting the above criteria, you must:

  • have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for at least 3 years by the start of the apprenticeship in September 2025.
  • be eligible to work full-time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship.

Please note this job role isn’t sponsorable under the Home Office points based system.

Show us your spark

During the application process, we’ll want to hear about what you enjoy doing and what you’re good at. And it goes without saying you’ll need to feel a connection with our values.

If we can help make the process smoother for you with any additional support or reasonable adjustments, please email us at avivaearlycareers@aviva.com.
