Technology and Change summer internships

We see your spark.

Find a career that exceeds your expectations.

Technology and Change delivery.  See where your strengths can take you.

Technology drives our business, allowing us to focus on what matters most – our customers. Whether it’s solving their problems or coming up with innovative new solutions, we put them at the heart of everything we do.

We’ve got a variety of 10-week summer internships available in technology and change delivery for students in their penultimate year of an undergraduate degree, or for those due to complete their Master’s degree in summer 2026.

Whichever internship you choose you’ll gain a deeper insight into the exciting world of technology and change delivery, as well as a head start on your future career. The work you do will be interesting and challenging, and you’ll have the full support of our brilliant technology and change community.

The great thing is, you don’t need to be a tech expert (or even studying it) to join us. We’re looking for naturally curious people who think big, understand the positive impact technology can have and are eager to make change happen.

Salary: £26,500
Duration: 10 weeks – 1st July – 5th September 2025
Locations: Bristol, Norwich, York (varies by role type, see individual roles)

What you can expect

Expect a workplace centred around people – you, your colleagues and of course, our customers. An environment where technology has a big role to play and makes a real and meaningful difference to our colleagues and our customers.

Our summer internships will put you at the heart of our technology and change teams, where you’ll gain invaluable on the job experience and learn from experts in the area.

You’ll be empowered to be yourself. Take control of your work and your development. You’ll get practical, hands-on, real-world knowledge that puts theory into practice and shows the importance of the work you do.

Our internship programme is designed to feed into our Graduate Programmes. After you’ve finished your placement, you might be offered a permanent graduate role starting with us in September 2026 (after you’ve successfully completed your course).

A bit about us

We’re the UK’s leading diversified insurer and we help over 19.5 million customers in the UK, Ireland, and Canada. Whether it’s for a small bump in the car or saving for a comfortable retirement, our customers rely on us to be there for them when they need us most. We’re deeply invested in our people, our customers, our society, and the planet. We exist to be with people when it really matters, throughout their lives. We do this by focusing on what matters to them most and helping our customers solve the financial puzzles in their lives. We’re with them in the moment, and we’re thinking about what they need for tomorrow too.

Our values bring to life what it means to work here: commitment, care, community, and confidence.

It means you’ll be joining a culture where you’re trusted to think for yourself. Where you can feel comfortable speaking up. Where you can think creatively to solve problems and make real change. And where everyone works to bring out the best in each other so we can help build a more positive future for our customers and communities.

Technology and Change delivery internships

We’ve got a number of different placements across our technology and change teams. To help you, we’ve grouped them into two specialisms so you can choose which one best suits your skills, interests, and aspirations.

And remember, you don’t need previous technology experience or even to have studied tech at university either. So, when you’re choosing, think about your strengths and the types of things you enjoy doing, and we’ll teach you the rest.

Your application will be for the whole pathway. We ask you to keep an open mind about any role preferences because, throughout the recruitment process, we’ll be looking to understand which role we think will suit you best. That said, if you have a preference, you can let us know during your application.

Where you’ll be based

We have Technology and Change delivery internship opportunities in our Bristol, Norwich and York offices. Not all roles are available in every location, so you might need to be flexible about where you work and be willing to relocate if you don’t currently live within commuting distance of the relevant office. You can find out more about each location by clicking the links below.

Wherever you’re based, the likelihood is you’ll balance time in the office with working from home. We call this Smart Working. Typically, it’s three days in the office and two days from home but this can vary between teams. When you join us, your leader will discuss this with you, and agree what works best for you, your team, and the business.

Even with our Smart Working approach, it’s important to note that you’ll still need to live within commuting distance of the relevant office. That way you’ll get to spend time with your team in person, as well as virtually, and have access to the right internal support networks to help you to succeed.

What you’ll need

To be considered for a 10-week summer internship with us, you’ll:

  • be a penultimate year student studying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (in any subject), with one year of study remaining after the internship
  • be intending to return to university for your final year of study after the placement
  • be interested in the potential of a permanent role starting Autumn 2026
  • be available to work full time (35 hours per week) for the full duration of the internship (1st July 2025 – 5th September 2025)
  • have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the internship whether that be on a permanent basis, or with a visa that would allow you to work 35 hours per week. We can’t offer sponsorship for anyone needing sponsorship from us because the roles don’t meet the requirements set out by the home office.

Across both specialisms, we’re looking for people who are motivated to drive real change and make a positive impact for our colleagues and customers.  You’ll be a confident communicator with a love of learning and a commitment to continually developing yourself. You’ll also have an analytical mind and a talent for problem solving, as well as an eagerness to question existing ways of doing things. And of course, we’re looking for a genuine passion for technology, change, innovation and continual improvement.

Our summer internships are designed to be a feeder into our Graduate Programmes. After completion of the internship successful candidates may be offered the opportunity to return to us as a permanent graduate in September 2026 so we look for candidates who are interested in not only getting summer experience, but also those who are also looking to secure a future permanent role.
