It’s all about number crunching, right? Nope. Not at Aviva. Join us as a graduate in Finance, and you’ll have a direct role to play in deciding what we do now – and where we go next. Yes, Finance does involve looking at the figures. We’re a heavily-regulated industry after all. But it’s also about solving problems. Thinking strategically. Being a very important part of a market-leading, FTSE 100 company.
The Actuaries, Accountants and Investment Analysts who work with us here are influential, playing a key part in the decisions we make, the policies we produce and the way that we work. This is your chance to join them. To help steer the UK’s largest insurer towards even greater success.
Applications for the Finance graduate pathway are now closed.
We’re looking to find and develop the future stars of Finance. But rather than being just another graduate development programme, here you’ll join us in a permanent role from day one.
As your skills and experience grow, there’ll be lots of development opportunities tailored specifically to you and your ambitions, which will give you the foundations you need to succeed.
You’ll be empowered to be yourself. To take control of your own work and your progression. Show us what you can do, and we’ll be right behind you, giving you more and more responsibility and opportunities to shape your future and that of the industry.
You might think we’re just another boring insurance firm, but nothing could be further from the truth. We don’t show up for work in pressed suits and shiny shoes. At Aviva, we’re proud to be different. Proud to say that we’re a diverse mix of cultures, genders, ages, perspectives, and ideas.
Most important of all, we’re an organisation with a purpose. We want to lead the way forward in our sector, which is why we focus on being the best we can be. Every day. Together, we’re building a better tomorrow with a little help – a lot, actually – from our future leaders.
No matter who you are, where you’re from, or what your interests are, you can be sure there’s a place for you at Aviva. We’re passionate and committed, just like you are; we’re the first major insurer worldwide to target Net Zero carbon by 2040 and we’re committed to the community too – we’re aiming for £10bn UK infrastructure and real estate investment by the end of 2023.
On our Finance Graduate Pathway, we offer three different roles. You can join us as an Investment Analyst, an Accountant or an Actuary. Whichever path you choose, you’ll find they’re slightly different to our traditional finance roles, not least because they sit outside of our Group Finance function.
While you’ll still study for the same professional qualifications and sit the same exams, you’ll be based out in the business, working closely with colleagues to deliver on our commercial objectives, while putting the customer at heart of everything you do.
Every decision we make, every policy we produce, every idea about how we work – you’ll influence them all. Along the way, we’ll give you everything you need to become a well-rounded business professional. Get ready for a broad and detailed grounding in the world of commercial finance. Get ready for a career that could take you as far as you want to go.
Our Finance opportunities are based in our London, Norwich and York offices. You can find out more about each location by clicking the links below.
Wherever you’re based, the likelihood is you’ll balance time in the office with working from home. We call this Smart Working. Three days in the office and two days from home is typical, but this will vary between teams. When you join us, your leader will take time to discuss this with you, and agree what works best for you, your team and the business.
As we adopt this Smart Working approach, it’s important to note that you will still need to live within commuting distance of the relevant office. That way you’ll get to spend time with your team in person, as well as virtually, and get access to the right internal support networks to help you to succeed.
You’ll either already have a degree (in any subject) or be on track to graduate by the end of Summer 2024, and be available for full-time work from September 2024.
We are looking for people who aren’t just good with numbers (although you will, of course, need a good head for figures).
Mostly, we look for people who can bring the kind of fresh perspectives and new ideas that will help us to thrive.
If you’re commercially-minded, strategic in your thinking and keen to learn, get ready for a great career that could take you as far as you want to go.
During the application process, we’ll want to hear about what you enjoy doing and what you are good at. And it goes without saying you’ll need to feel a connection with our values.
Sounds good? Great. Here’s what you need to do now.
If we can help to make the process smoother for you with any additional support or reasonable adjustments, please just let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
