Risk is fundamental to everything we do at Aviva. From helping us make better decisions for our customers, to how we invest funds, through to ensuring that we navigate regulatory guidelines smoothly. In a highly regulated industry, our customers trust us to always do the right thing and our Risk, Assurance, Audit and Compliance teams play a key part in building and maintaining that trust.
We are all about challenging how we think and creating new habits to drive a robust risk and control environment to keep our customers, business and ourselves safe. So if you are all about attention to detail, with an analytical mindset and have an ability to understand strategy and the bigger picture, this could be the role for you.
Applications for the Risk graduate pathway are now closed.
We’re looking to find and develop the Risk stars of the future. But rather than being just another graduate development programme, here you’ll join us in a permanent role from day one.
As your skills and experience grow, there’ll be lots of development opportunities tailored specifically to you and your ambitions, which will give you the foundations you need to succeed.
You’ll be empowered to be yourself. To take control of your own work and your progression. Show us what you can do, and we’ll be right behind you, giving you more and more responsibility and opportunities to shape your future and that of the industry. If you want to be part of a prestigious business that’s making a difference to millions of customers, this is the place to be. And right now, it is an incredibly exciting time to join.
You might think we’re just another boring insurance firm, but we’re not. We don’t show up for work in pressed suits and shiny shoes. At Aviva, we’re proud to be different. Proud to say that we’re a diverse mix of cultures, genders, ages, perspectives, and ideas.
Most important of all, we’re an organisation with a purpose. We want to lead the way forward in our sector, which is why we focus on being the best we can be. Every day. Together, we’re building a better tomorrow with a little help – a lot, actually – from our future leaders.
No matter who you are, where you’re from, or what your interests are, you can be sure there’s a place for you at Aviva. We’re passionate and committed, just like you are; we’re the first major insurer worldwide to target Net Zero carbon by 2040 and we’re committed to the community too – we’re aiming for £10bn UK infrastructure and real estate investment by the end of 2023.
Risk is a growth area for Aviva that’s full of exciting development opportunities.
Some of the roles focus on our work across the change agenda, supporting key programmes in our business. Others are more focused on reporting and insights, helping the business shape its decisions.
But wherever you join us and in whatever role, you should expect to be coaching and guiding others to understand risks. Risk and governance can be difficult to understand but we will train you to be able to understand, simplify and apply change methodology and bring others along the journey.
Our Risk opportunities are based in our Bristol, Eastleigh Sheffield and York offices. You can find out more about each of these locations by clicking the links below.
Wherever you’re based, the likelihood is you’ll balance time in the office with working from home. We call this Smart Working. Three days in the office and two days from home is typical, but this will vary between teams. When you join us, your leader will take time to discuss this with you, and agree what works best for you, your team and the business.
As we adopt this Smart Working approach, it’s important to note that you will still need to live within commuting distance of the relevant office. That way you’ll get to spend time with your team in person, as well as virtually, and get access to the right internal support networks to help you to succeed.
You’ll either already have a degree (in any subject) or be on track to graduate by the end of Summer 2024 and be available for full-time work from September 2024.
You’ll be the kind of person who can get to the heart of what someone needs and is great at building relationships. Along with a bright, analytical mind, you’ll have a sharp attention to detail. You’ll also be brilliant at communicating your ideas and convincing others to get behind them.
During the application process, we’ll want to hear about what you enjoy doing and what you are good at. And it goes without saying you’ll need to feel a connection with our values.
Sounds good? Great. Here’s what you need to do now.
If we can help to make the process smoother for you with any additional support or reasonable adjustments, please just let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
